Gavarres Consortium is an organization created in November 1998 with the aim of protecting and managing the Natural Interest Area of Les Gavarres (Girona). 19 of the 20 municipalities that have term within the limits of the Gavarres massif are members of the Consortium, together with the Baix Empordà and Gironès County Councils, the Girona Provincial Council and the Department of Environment and Housing, which was joined in 2006. It also has a Partnership Board with advisory and proposal functions, made by organizations that have as their priority area Gavarres massif.
